Abstract:
In order to verify the feasibility of the pipeline material in-line inspection system to detect the strength performance of the pipeline online, the field test was carried out by using the pull test method. The test system was calibrated through destructive tensile test, metallographic inspection and probe pull test. A 1,219mm-diameter sample tube with 37 steel tubes of 5 different steel grades was designed. The yield strength and tensile strength of the sample tube were tested by indentation detector. The pull test was carried out for 6 times at different speeds, and the strength value detected by indentation method was compared with the yield strength and tensile strength reported in the pull test to evaluate the strength detection accuracy of the in-line inspection system for pipeline materials. The results showed that, under 80% credibility, the yield strength measurement results reported by the in-line inspection system for pipeline materials met the requirements of strength measurement accuracy index. For X80 high steel grade pipes, its quantitative model needed to be further improved.
