Abstract
Urban gas pipelines are vulnerable to geological subsidence, road construction, natural disasters, and other factors during long-term operation, leading to local stress concentration or distortion, which negatively impacts their fatigue life, crack resistance, and corrosion resistance. In this study, magnetoacoustic stress measurement technology was developed to efficiently characterize multi-dimensional residual or load stress distribution on the surface and within equipment. This technology has been successfully applied to identify stress concentrations caused by geological subsidence, assess local stress distortions from pipeline displacement after heavy rain, and evaluate elimination effects, providing an effective solution for ensuring the safe operation and risk management of gas pipelines.
